World Heritage Kiyomizu Temple Bonsai Suiseki Exhibition, November 24-27, 2023 Kyoto, Japan.

Sponsored by Chinese language Council Common of Osaka, commemorating the forty fifth Anniversary of the signing of the peace treaty and friendship of China and Japan.

This particular exhibit of bonsai and suiseki was organized and paid for by Kunio Kobayashi, (Shunka-en Bonsai Museum- Tokyo) took eight months of cautious planning. Mr. Kobayashi introduced six truckloads of bonsai and suiseki from his backyard in Tokyo, plus just a few consumer bushes and a truckload of bonsai tables and folding screens. He introduced a crew of 12 apprentices to move, arrange, guard, load up and return all the things again to Tokyo. Arrange was required between 11pm and 4am. Mr. Kobayashi introduced an indication on the opening ceremony and likewise free lessons to the general public carried out by his son-in-law, Minoru Akiyama.

It was very beneficiant of Mr. Kobayashi to donate his time, funds and abilities to assist unfold his ardour and love of bonsai and suiseki to the world.

Considered one of Mr. Kobayashi’s masterpiece Sargents Juniper was prominently featured on the opening ceremony in a particular exhibit space and is valued at US $1,000,000. It has been estimated to be “roughly” 800 years outdated, and Mr. Kobayashi didn’t begin it from seed…..
